HOW HAVE CASTLES CHANGED OVER TIME AND WHY WERE THE CHANGES MADE?
Castles have changed over time with the use of different materials and designs.
In the the 11 century Castles were made of wood. They could be built quickly but were not very strong and caught on fire easily. From 1100 onwards Castles were made of stone. This was important as methods of attacking were getting better and Castles needed to be stronger and longer lasting. Designs changed also with rectangular towers being replaced with round towers because it was harder to climb up them.

WHICH PART OF THE CASTLE INTERESTS YOU THE MOST? WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THIS PART AND WHO USED IT AND WHY?
The Drawbridge interests me the most, because we don't have Drawbridge. The purpose of the Drawbridge is so that Kings, Queens,Princes and Princess and their People could get across the moat without falling in. The entrance to Castles are the weakest point when the Castles were under attack the Drawbridges would be pulled up to stop enemies crossing.

What part of castles do you think offers the most protection against enemies and why ?
I think that the moat offered the most protection. When the castle was under attack the draw bridge would be pulled up, swimming the moat would be the only way in. The moat was very deep and filled of toilet water.Enemies were easy targets in the water swimming and trying to climb the walls of the Castle
